General FAQs

Kontakt 8 Multiscripts

Multiscripts run the same in Kontakt 8 as previous versions. See the video for more information.

Test Before Buying?

Although there aren't product demos, there are several freebies, including EZ Switch, which is available in both plugin and multiscript format. You can download those to test if Grumpy Monkey Plugins are right for your setup and workflow.

Get EZ Switch Here to test in your setup.

How do I load GM plugins into my DAW? (VST/AU version)

↑ These steps are the same for Roll Control and Niente.

Logic and Reaper
Load the plugin as a MIDI FX plugin that appears above your instrument.

For Cubase, Studio One
Load the plugin as a VST3 instrument, then route the midi output into a separate track which contains your instrument.

How do I load GM plugins into my DAW? (Multiscript version)

All plugins now include a multiscript version which opens in any DAW within an instance of Kontakt.

(NoteTaker opens within Kontakt as an instrument and not a multiscript however.)

Can I use with FL Studio, Ableton, Pro Tools?

The multiscript versions open in any DAW, from inside an instance of Kontakt. These multiscripts are the same and have the same features as the plugins.

The plugin versions may sometimes work in DAWs I haven't listed, but I am unable to test them, so they are not officially supported.

Using a Multiscript Outside of Kontakt

Here is how you can send midi from a Kontakt multiscript out of Kontakt and into another instrument. (Does not work with Logic X.)

Refunds / License Tranfers?

Unfortunately, I can't offer refunds or license transfers, sorry. This is a one-monkey operation and not my full-time job.
